Multiple Exposure:  An in-camera layering technique created by opening the camera shutter more than once, exposing the film or sensor multiple times, usually to different subject matter. The resulting image contains all images superimposed over the original. The technique is sometimes used by photographers and cinematographers as an artistic visual effect to create ghostly images or to add people and objects to a scene that were not originally there.
