What is an Acrylic Print?

Acrylic print colours are unparallelled in vibrancy, their luminescence provides a greater depth of detail, they arrive ready-to-hang and are museum-grade quality. There are many features to admire in an acrylic print, read on for more detail.

Acrylic prints are comprised of four layers:

What is an acrylic print diagram
1. Shinkolite Acrylic
Museum grade Shinkolite acrylic is 3mm thick, ultra clear and shatter-proof, it reduces the effect of UV light on the print and enhances the depth of detail.

2. The Print
Archival inks are printed on shimmering metallic paper, gifting enhanced colour longevity and a similar to 3D effect when placed behind Shinkolite acrylic.

3. PVC Board
Premium rigid PVC board is placed behind the print for stability and adhered with a pH-neutral adhesive to protect the print from yellowing.

4. The Frame
The Italian-made, concealed timber frame has attached hangers resulting in a sleek, versatile, contemporary and ready-to-hand piece that is light weight, great for renters with a desire to reduce wall damage.

Which would Jacqueline choose? Acrylic or Paper

I've purchase three acrylics for my home, so it's safe to say, I'm biased. Not only are the colours impressively vibrant and luminescent, they're also ready-to-hang, perfect for people like me who prefer to admire their prints on arrival. There are no further decisions, no turnaround times, and no mystery costs associated with framing. The frame of an acrylic print is concealed gifting a whimsical 'floating' appearance with the versatility to suit any space as there's no frame to limit decor progressions. If you want to impress your visitors, or better yet yourself, I highly recommend a museum-grade acrylic print.
