About

Jacqueline Law

Australian Impressionist Photographer, Jacqueline Law, seeks to transfuse self-love and daydreams into homes around the world. Her images are seen as a form of art therapy to aid with stress relief and encourage positive emotions without words or exterior guidance.

Using multiple exposure photography Jacqueline recreates the essence of the vistas she visits with the goal to provide a sense of place through tiny details and spirited colours. Her abstract nature imagery is a purist’s pleasure, Jacqueline develops all her illusions without the aid of editing software, instead, layering images in-camera using her camera settings.

" Life can be tough, I want to surround people with visual warmth and love through vivid colours and textures. My prints help to remove people from the rabbit hole of their own mind, to relieve some of the stress and allow them to dream for a moment. “

Photography for Jacqueline is an empowering process. Relishing the solitude of the great outdoors her technique transcends to addiction and she can be seen walking back and forth between subject matter, turning her camera this way and that, until the revelation of a perfect combination arrives. In the studio Jacqueline will print thumbnails to display and commune with until satisfied a piece is truly colour correct with her vision.

“ Colour and therapy perform hand in hand, I’m very particular with my colour rendering, often to the frustration of others [laughs]. It’s important for collectors to feel the emotions connected with colour. “

Her whimsical photographs began their journey adorning her own walls, with little money and a head full of disturbance she sought unconventional methods of relief. Her tiny images proved to be the key to much needed space in her mind.

“ I was seeking a place free from triggers; a place to escape my reality. Largely I would find myself outdoors, in the bush or on the beach at sunrise and set. What I was seeing was so peaceful but empowering, I wanted to bring the feeling home with me. Ultimately, I manifested a kind of synthetic safety in my prints, it was a natural progression to bring my therapy to the public. “

A lifelong love for a multitude of creative arts saw Jacqueline hone her skills with Ultimo TAFE, University of Sydney, FBI Fashion College, NIDA and Canon Collective.

If you'd like to say "G’day" you'll find Jacqueline in her purple puffer embracing untamed landscapes in Australia’s National Parks, wandering the pristine beaches of NSW’s Central Coast and beyond. If you’re lucky, you might spy Jacqueline with her camera upside down.

“ Acres of love and appreciation to my incredible collectors, see you out there “  -  JL
